Connection Error 0952
Things to check:
- Can you ping the server from the workstation? By server name? By IP address?
- If not, need to find out why.
- If yes, continue.
- On the workstation, make sure the Server name in the Setup, Options, Database, Add button is using the “server name” with the \TCLI
- On the workstation, when adding the server connection above, does the Test Connection button create an affirmative message.
- If not, is there another computer connected to the server that you can check their settings using the Setup, Options, Database, Current Connection
- If not, continue
- Open the Control Panel on the server, select Programs and Features, scroll down and see if the Microsoft SQL 2014 express server is installed.
- If not, something has blocked the installation of the SQL server. Check to see if the anti-virus isn’t blocking the installation.
- If yes, continue
- On the server, open Administrative Tools, select Services, check to see if the service “SQL Server (TCLI)" is there and running.
- If not running, right click it, and select Start.
- If not there, the database has not been created. Need troubleshoot using Management Studio
- If yes, continue
- On the server, you will need to install Microsoft’s Management studio to check for the database TCLIdb. Call TCLI support 1-800-448-0741 for further help.
