How to Make a Project Read-Only

In this tutorial, you'll discover step-by-step guidance on how to safeguard your project from any modifications or alterations after it has been finalized, ensuring its integrity and preserving your hard work.

Setting your project to read-only mode is an effective way to prevent unauthorized changes to an awarded job. This feature also allows project managers to access projects securely while in the field. With just a few simple clicks, you can confidently protect your project and ensure its security.

 

1. From Estimating Link Navigate to Setup>Options>Admin>Enter Password

2. Next, you'll select Manage Read Only Projects

3. Then, find your project and check mark the box next to it in the Read Only Column

4. Exit out of Estimating Link 

5. Relaunch Estimating Link and Select your Project -

  • Action buttons to add anything will now be grayed out 
  • Other buttons with information inside of them you can click on to view but you will not be able to change any numbers. 

6. To Reverse the setting, repeat steps 1-5 but you'll want to uncheck your project
