Here's how to set up the Remote Desktop client on your Android device:

  1. Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop client from Google Play.
  2. Launch the Remote Desktop client from your list of apps.
  3. Add a Remote Desktop connection.   Remote Desktop connections let you connect directly to TCLI's Servers and access Estimating Link (also Field Link and Billing Link if applicable).

Add your TCLI Virtual Desktop connection

Now that you have the client on your device, you can add the TCLI Virtual Desktop connection to access Estimating Link.

To add your TCLI Virtual Desktop connection:

  1. Open the app, tap + , and then tap Add PC.

  2. Enter the PC name. This name is the TCLI-VM Computer Name from your Welcome Email Instructions.  It will look like this:  TCLIServerxx.TCLI.com.

  3. Add the User Account.  This is the TCLI-VM Username from your Welcome Email Instructions.  It will look like this: TCLI\Username

    • Select Enter every time for the client to ask for your credentials every time you connect to the remote PC.
    • Select Add user account to save an account that you use frequently so you don't have to enter credentials every time you sign in (recommended).
  4. Add the Password.  This is the TCLI-VM Password from your Welcome Email Instructions.  It will look like this: namexxxxx%
  5. Add the Gateway.  This is the TCLI-VM Server name from your Welcome Email Instructions.
    1. Enter Server Name.  It will look like this: TCLIGateway#.TCLI.com
    2. Select the User Account you just created from the dropdown select under User Account.
  6. In Friendly name, you can enter an easy-to-remember name for the Virtual Desktop.  You can name it "Estimating Link" or "TCLI Virtual Desktop".  If you don't specify a friendly name, the PC name is displayed instead.
  7. When you're done, tap Save.

Connect to your TCLI Virtual Desktop

Now that you've set up your Remote Desktop Android client, you can connect to your TCLI Virtual Desktop session.

To connect:

  1. Tap the name of your Remote Desktop connection to start the session.
  2. If you're asked to verify the certificate for the remote desktop, tap Connect. You can also select Don't ask me again for connections to this computer to always accept the certificate by default. (recommended).

Tip: If you get an error name "0xf07" that says something like "We couldn't connect to the remote PC because the password associated with the user account has expired," verify you entered the right password in your connection settings, then try again.  If you still get an error message, contact TCLI Support at support@tcli.com or 800-448-0741.
